There’s been an awful lot of twittering recently about the benefits of using online social networks to advertise your business: as long as you, and your staff members, use it with common sense and you keep your personal social networking separate.
So, I thought perhaps it was about time Kaz Design Works followed the flock and finally joined Twitter. We were in fact already LinkedIn, although that was only a mere few weeks ago, after receiving an invite from a networking buddy, but apart from inviting a few networking buddies to join me, I haven’t done anything else with it since. I don’t even think I’ve logged in since.
However, I got a bit further with Twitter; added my website address, started following a few groups, and posted a couple of comments. I even have one follower, but have no idea who he is. I wasn’t planning to invite anyone until I’d figured everything out, and then I got busy with this blog.
To be honest, I’m a bit sceptical. Won’t I end up receiving lots of spam as a result? I guess time will tell. For awhile I think I’ll just be a follower until I’ve done a bit more research and learnt more about the benefits and best practices. Once I do, I’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime, if you’ve been twittering or your business is LinkedIn, let me know what you think of them both. Has your business benefitted from online social networking?
